Kevin Ferry hosts a new podcast series called Elven Star—featuring people whoaren’t famous doing great things in their communities.
Elven Star Guests are passionate about their pursuit of kindness, service, compassion, exploration and love. The genesis of the Elven Star Podcast series is Ferry’s belief that humanity is looking in all the wrong places for guidance, and for answers to life’s difficult questions.
We have been thrust into a social media technoworld where tweets, follows, reposts, likes and shares equate with status—even legitimacy. There is complex machinery built into its algorithms, designed to manipulate and distort the truth. No one ever learns from always being right, and no matter what, social media will always reinforce that you are ‘right’. Conversely, that same social media allows hate to flourish. We grow from our failures more than our successes, and we learn who’s trustworthy and what’s worthwhile by experiencing the pain of hate— and of being lied to. The window dressing of status gained from fame, fortune, or political or artistic success is a modern day king’s robe—an exterior of beauty that reveals nothing of the heart of the person within.
The Elven Star Podcast series promotes hard-working, sharing people who, rather than seeking recognition for the passion that fuels their soul, help reconnect us to each other—and to our own humanity.
The bridge to understanding and building peace in our world starts with putting our trust in our neighbors. As we learn to trust the people in our community instead of the people on our screens, we come closer to finding our way back home—the eternal home that resides in each one of us.
