Safeco refused to promptly return 6,666.66 dollars to two clients whose former lawyer incorrectly paid that sum out of settlement to Safeco.

After 2 years of litigation, Attorney Ferry first recovered the 6,666.66 dollars and reserved the right to sue Safeco.   Alleging bad faith, statutory theft and unjust enrichment, Safeco  agreed to pay 60,000 in new money to resolve the claim.
